Filming process - Behind the scenes

When making decisions regarding the filming process problems occurred, we encountered a problem regarding the wind when filming a conversation between David and Anuj. The wind was overpowering their voices and mad it hard to understand what they were saying. This was something that when filming we had to play around with, changing the angle and positioning of the camera, also trying solutions with the props and objects we had present at that time. We tried using an open umbrella to shield as a wind breaker, this was only effective until the wind decided to change direction. When we placed the video clip onto the iMovie software we were aware that the camera didn't pick up a lot of the sound up,  although we tried putting things into place to solve the problem we knew that our last resort if it still wasn't suitable was todo a voiceover through the garage band software or we could increase the volume of the sound level when editing, but due to us wanting a realistic effect and a sound that was fuzzy we tried other solutions when filming to block out the wind.

We wanted to obtain a tracking shot but knew that the lighting when walking into the garage would be extremely dark, knowing that turing on the lights in the garage would be too bright due to use wanting to keep with a dark, unsettling and nerving perspective of the boys walking into the unknown. We had the option of using the lighting from the previous room to pick up on Anju and David walking into the garage. We came up with different solutions to solve this problem when filming, for example we placed Anju in a jumper that has a large white panel near his shoulder back area, this meant that when he walked into the dark room the audience had something they could lock there eyes onto ,so that the boys were slightly visible when walking into darkness.

When we first filmed David and Anju walking into the kidnapers house our first thoughts where that it was too casual and they didn't represent any nerves or panicking emotion. Therefore we chose to re-film the entrance and suggest to Anju to swipe his hand along the wall, this is something that we chose to use due to it representing him hesitating as he moves through the hallway.
