Location for filming

These are some images for the whereabouts we have set our film opening, we chose to use this park around Hempstead area because it had a sheltered seating area. This atmosphere was best to film in as there was a large open spaced field with a forest type area which went around and in the middle of the park layout. Having a meeting point in this opening was a key importance as we wanted to portray the three friends always coming there to meet and hanging around these areas.

These images show the wood area we have decided to film the two boys walking through within the flashback. Having the tree area by the sheltered seating section was another thing in why this location best suited out scene. As when the 2 boys walk away the trees are to be see to represent them being camouflaged and not being able to see there fiend being kidnapped.

All of these field photographs were taken in Hempstead park, these photos were taken before we started filming, another reason we as a group chose this type of location was because it was abandoned within parts of the park. This made it an easy place to film and not worry about the public getting in the shot.

This is a picture of the garage we chose to base out filming in ,as a group we didn't have access to a basement so we came up with all the alternatives that we could use that was basement like. We had access to attics and dark rooms but came to the conclusion that using this garage would give us a basement feel, the low lighting and cramp area made it perfect for a kidnapping atmosphere.  When filing we would move the objects that were shown blocking the garage door for example the brown bin and green over.  this would be to aloo us to have more room to set the tripod up and fit a chair in the centre for the hostage.

This image shows the length of the garage, we wanted a crowded pathway to show that the house wasn't abandoned and that people were currently living there. However because the crowded counters and tools piled up were in the scene it meant that when filming we have to be very carful of making sure we don't have unwanted objects distracting the audience for what they are suppose to be looking at.







The flooring in the garage was perfect for the type of setting and creepy torture scene we wanted to portray,we wanted a scuffed and dirty room , therefore this garage concrete flooring was perfect to so filming. The reason this would be good is show within the filming is because the scuffs and scratches on the floor could symbolise struggles allowing the audience to make consumptions on perhaps this isn't the kidnappers first victim.
